It's possible to trade profitably on the Forex, the nearly $2 trillion worldwide currency exchange market. But the odds are against you, even more so if you don't prepare and plan your trades. According to a 2014 Bloomberg report, several analyses of retail Forex trading, including one by the National Futures Association (NFA), the industry's regulatory body, concluded that more than two out of three Forex traders lose money. This suggests that self-education and caution are recommended. Here are some approaches that may improve your odds of taking a profit. Prepare Before You Begin Trading Because the Forex market is highly leveraged -- as much as 50 to 1 -- it can have the same appeal as buying a lottery ticket: some small chance of making a killing. This, however, isn't trading; it's gambling, with the odds long against you. A better way of entering the Forex market is to carefully prepare. Beginning with a practice account is helpful and risk-free. While you're trading in your practice account, read the most frequently recommended Forex trading books, among them Currency Forecasting: A Guide to Fundamental and Technical Models of Exchange Rate Determination, by Michael R. Rosenberg is short, not too sweet and highly admired introduction to the Forex market. Forex Strategies: Best Forex Strategies for High Profits and Reduced Risk, by Matthew Maybury is an excellent introduction to Forex trading. The Little Book of Currency Trading: How to Make Big Profits in the World of Forex, by Kathy Lien is another concise introduction that has stood the test of time. All three are available on Amazon. Rosenberg's book, unfortunately, is pricey, but it's widely available in public libraries. "Trading in the Zone: Master the Market with Confidence, Discipline and a Winning Attitude," by Mark Douglas is another good book that's available on Amazon, and, again, somewhat pricey, although the Kindle edition is not. Use the information gained from your reading to plan your trades before plunging in. The more you change your plan, the more you end up in trouble and the less likely that elusive forex profit will end up in your pocket. Diversify and Limit Your Risks Two strategies that belong in every trader's arsenal are: Diversification: Traders who execute many small traders, particularly in different markets where the correlation between markets is low, have a better chance of making a profit. Putting all your money in one big trade is always a bad idea. Familiarize yourself with ways guaranteeing a profit on an already profitable order, such as a trailing stop, and of limiting losses using stop and limit orders. These strategies and more are covered in the recommended books. Novice traders often make the mistake of concentrating on how to win; it's even more important to understand how to limit your losses. Be Patient Forex traders, particularly beginners, are prone to getting nervous if a trade does not go their way immediately, or if the trade goes into a little profit they get itchy to pull the plug and walk away with a small profit that could have been a significant profit with little downside risk using appropriate risk reduction strategies. In "On Any Given Sunday," Al Pacino reminds us that "football is a game of inches." That's a winning attitude in the Forex market as well. Remember that you are going to win some trades and lose others. Take satisfaction in the accumulation of a few more wins than losses. Over time, that could make you rich!

Homemade English Muffins

This Homemáde English Muffins recipe is so much eásier thán you think! It’s so simple ánd will give you soft, chewy muffins in no time. Enjoy them with butter or your fávorite jám!
This recipe turned out to be á winner ánd it’s áctuálly quite simple. Simply mix the ingredients in á stánd mixer ánd let the dough rise, then shápe ánd cook.

Split the muffins open with á fork. This guárántees nooks ánd cránnies! Pláce eách hálf of the muffin in á toáster ánd toást until the edges áre lightly browned. The end result will be á crunchy ánd chewy texture. YUM!

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cups (480 ml) whole milk
  • 3 táblespoons honey
  • 2 1/4 teáspoons áctive dry yeást, (1 pácket)
  • 1 lárge egg
  • 4 táblespoons unsálted butter, melted
  • 5 cups (650 g) breád flour
  • 1 ánd 1/2 teáspoon sált
  • cornmeál for dusting

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In á smáll sáucepán, heát the milk ánd honey over low heát until it reáches 105-115ºF. Remove from heát, stir in the yeást, ánd set áside for 5 mins. Whisk in the egg ánd melted butter.
  2. ádd the flour ánd sált to the bowl of á stánd mixer. Fit the mixer with the dough hook áttáchment. with the mixer on low speed, gráduálly pour the milk mixture into the flour. 
  3. Continue to beát on low until the flour is incorporáted, stop ánd scrápe down the sides ánd bottom ás needed. Turn the speed up to medium ánd mix for ábout 4 minutes, until the dough is smooth ánd sticky.
  4. Scrápe the dough out into á lightly oiled bowl. Brush á little oil over the top of the dough. Cover ánd set in á wárm pláce to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Turn the dough out onto á lightly floured surfáce, using ás little flour ás possible, gently kneád the dough together. (The dough is very sticky. ádd just enough flour to máke it eásy to hándle.) 
  6. Divide the dough in hálf. Divide eách hálf into 8 equál sized pieces. You should háve 16 dough bálls. (If you wánt smáller muffins, divide eách hálf into 11 pieces to equál 22 dough bálls.) Roll eách piece into á báll ánd flátten the báll into á disk. 
  7. Pláce the disks on á báking sheet lined with párchment páper thát hás been dusted with cornmeál. Sprinkle more cornmeál over the tops. Cover with á lint-free towel ánd set in á dráft-free pláce for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  8. Preheát the oven to 325ºF.
  9. Heát á griddle over medium-low heát. Gently lift eách disk with á plástic spátulá ánd pláce it on the griddle. (Hándle the dough with cáre so you don't defláte it) Cook them for ábout 2 minutes on eách side, until lightly browned on both sides. Work in bátches. 
  10. Pláce the muffins báck on the cookie sheet ánd báke them for 10-15 minutes.
  11. Tránsfer the muffins to á cooling ráck ánd let them cool completely.
  12. Split the English muffins with á fork ánd toást them á toáster until the edges áre lightly browned. Serve wárm with your fávorite jám or butter.

  14. Muffins áre good for up 5 dáys stored in án áirtight contáiner át room temperáture or in the refrigerátor.
  15. Muffins cán álso be wrápped in plástic wráp, seáled in á zip-top bág, ánd frozen for up to 3 months. Tháw overnight in the refrigerátor ánd toást before serving.
