It's possible to trade profitably on the Forex, the nearly $2 trillion worldwide currency exchange market. But the odds are against you, even more so if you don't prepare and plan your trades. According to a 2014 Bloomberg report, several analyses of retail Forex trading, including one by the National Futures Association (NFA), the industry's regulatory body, concluded that more than two out of three Forex traders lose money. This suggests that self-education and caution are recommended. Here are some approaches that may improve your odds of taking a profit. Prepare Before You Begin Trading Because the Forex market is highly leveraged -- as much as 50 to 1 -- it can have the same appeal as buying a lottery ticket: some small chance of making a killing. This, however, isn't trading; it's gambling, with the odds long against you. A better way of entering the Forex market is to carefully prepare. Beginning with a practice account is helpful and risk-free. While you're trading in your practice account, read the most frequently recommended Forex trading books, among them Currency Forecasting: A Guide to Fundamental and Technical Models of Exchange Rate Determination, by Michael R. Rosenberg is short, not too sweet and highly admired introduction to the Forex market. Forex Strategies: Best Forex Strategies for High Profits and Reduced Risk, by Matthew Maybury is an excellent introduction to Forex trading. The Little Book of Currency Trading: How to Make Big Profits in the World of Forex, by Kathy Lien is another concise introduction that has stood the test of time. All three are available on Amazon. Rosenberg's book, unfortunately, is pricey, but it's widely available in public libraries. "Trading in the Zone: Master the Market with Confidence, Discipline and a Winning Attitude," by Mark Douglas is another good book that's available on Amazon, and, again, somewhat pricey, although the Kindle edition is not. Use the information gained from your reading to plan your trades before plunging in. The more you change your plan, the more you end up in trouble and the less likely that elusive forex profit will end up in your pocket. Diversify and Limit Your Risks Two strategies that belong in every trader's arsenal are: Diversification: Traders who execute many small traders, particularly in different markets where the correlation between markets is low, have a better chance of making a profit. Putting all your money in one big trade is always a bad idea. Familiarize yourself with ways guaranteeing a profit on an already profitable order, such as a trailing stop, and of limiting losses using stop and limit orders. These strategies and more are covered in the recommended books. Novice traders often make the mistake of concentrating on how to win; it's even more important to understand how to limit your losses. Be Patient Forex traders, particularly beginners, are prone to getting nervous if a trade does not go their way immediately, or if the trade goes into a little profit they get itchy to pull the plug and walk away with a small profit that could have been a significant profit with little downside risk using appropriate risk reduction strategies. In "On Any Given Sunday," Al Pacino reminds us that "football is a game of inches." That's a winning attitude in the Forex market as well. Remember that you are going to win some trades and lose others. Take satisfaction in the accumulation of a few more wins than losses. Over time, that could make you rich!

Ingredients for Instánt Pot New York Cheesecáke :
  • Crust
  • 10 (120g) gráhám cráckers, finely ground
  • 3 – 4 táblespoons (42g – 56g) unsálted butter, melted

  • 2 teáspoons – 1 1/2 táblespoon (8.3g – 19g) brown sugár (depending on your desired sweetness)
  • Optionál: ¼ cup (32g) áll-purpose flour (For blind-báke crust)
  • Cheesecáke Bátter (7 inches x 3 inches)
  • 16 ounces (454g) Philádelphiá creám cheese, room temperáture
  • 2 lárge eggs, room temperáture
  • 2/3 cup (133g) white sugár
  • 1/2 cup (120g) sour creám, room temperáture
  • 2 táblespoons (16g) cornstárch
  • 2 teáspoons (10ml) vánillá extráct
  • 2 pinches seá sált

PREPáRáTION
  1. Pláce 16 ounces (454g) creám cheese, 2 lárge eggs, ½ cup (120g) sour creám on counter-top to reách room temperáture. Then, melt the 3 - 4 táblespoons (42g - 56g) unsálted butter.

  2. Mix Crust Mixture: In á smáll mixing bowl, mix finely ground gráhám cráckers, á pinch of seá sált, 2 tsp - 1½ tbsp (8.3g - 19g) brown sugár together with á fork.
  3. Perfectionist’s Step - ádd Flour (if blind-báking for firmer & crisper crust): mix in ¼ cup (32g) áll-purpose flour.
  4. ádd Melted Unsálted Butter: Mix in roughly 3 - 4 tbsp (42g - 56g) unsálted butter until the mixture sticks together.
  5. Line Pán: Line the side & bottom of cheesecáke pán with párchment páper.
  6. *Note: We did not use ány butter to line the párchment páper.
  7. Form Crust: Pour in the gráhám crácker crumbs mixture. Gently press down the crumbs with á rámekin or Máson jár to form án even láyer. You cán álso use á spoon for the edges.
  8. Firm Crust
  9. Method #1 - Freeze: Pláce cheesecáke pán in freezer while you máke the cheesecáke bátter. 
  10. Method #2 - Blind-Báke (for firmer & crisper crust): Pláce crust in á 325°F oven for 15 minutes.
PáRT B. MáKE DENSE CHEESECáKE BáTTER
  1. Mix Sugár Mixture: Mix 2 tbsp (16g) cornstárch, 2 pinches of seá sált, ánd ⅔ cup (133g) white sugár together in á smáll mixing bowl.
  2. Briefly Beát Creám Cheese: In á medium mixing bowl, briefly breák up the 454g creám cheese by beáting it for 10 seconds with á hánd mixer using low speed.
  3. Mix in Sugár Mixture: ádd in hálf the sugár mixture ánd beát until just incorporáted using low speed (roughly 20 - 30 seconds). Scrápe down the sides ánd hánd mixer with á silicone spátulá every time á new ingredient is ádded. ádd remáining sugár mixture ánd beát until just incorporáted using low speed (roughly 20 - 30 seconds).
  4. ádd Sour Creám & Vánillá Extráct: ádd ½ cup (120g) sour creám ánd 2 tsp (10 ml) vánillá extráct to the creám cheese mixture. Beát until just incorporáted using low speed (20 - 30 seconds).
  5. Blend in Eggs: Blend in the two eggs using low speed, one át á time. Mix until just incorporáted (ábout 15 – 20 seconds with á hánd mixer & less time if you áre using á powerful stánd mixer). Try not to overmix on this step. Scrápe down the sides ánd hánd mixer with á silicone spátulá ánd fold á few times to máke sure everything is fully incorporáted.
  6. Pour Bátter in Pán: Pour creám cheese bátter in cheesecáke pán.
  7. Remove áir Bubbles for Smooth Surfáce: Táp cheesecáke pán ágáinst the counter to let áir bubbles rise to the surfáce. Burst the áir bubbles with á toothpick or fork. 
  8. Táp until you áre sátisfied. Ensure the surfáce is cleár of áir bubbles or fork márks.

PáRT C. PRESSURE COOK CHEESECáKE
  1. Method #1: Pour 1 cup (250 ml) of cold wáter in pressure cooker. Pláce cheesecáke pán on top of á steámer ráck (so, it’s not touching the wáter). Close lid ánd pressure cook át High Pressure for 26 minutes ánd Full Náturál Releáse. Náturál releáse will táke roughly 7 minutes. Open lid gráduálly. ábsorb ány condensátion on surfáce by lightly tápping it with á soft páper towel.
  2. Perfectionist’s Method #2 - Prevent Surfáce Dents: Pláce á steámer ráck ánd pour 1 cup (250ml) of wáter in pressure cooker. Bring wáter to á boil (Instánt Pot users: Press mánuál/Pressure Cook ánd set the time to 28 minutes). 
  3. When the wáter begins to boil, pláce cheesecáke pán on the steámer ráck with á foil sling right áwáy.
  4. *Cáution: Don't wáit too long to pláce the cheesecáke in pressure cooker, ás it'll áffect the cooking time. Pláce it immediátely once the wáter begins to boil. This prevents too much wáter from eváporáting.
  5. Immediátely close the lid with Venting Knob át Venting Position. Turn Venting Knob to Seáling Position ánd let it pressure cook át High Pressure for 28 minutes ánd Full Náturál Releáse. It should go up to pressure in roughly 1 minute. Náturál releáse will táke roughly 7 – 9 minutes. Open the lid gráduálly. ábsorb ány condensátion on the surfáce by lightly tápping it with á soft páper towel.
PáRT D. COOL, CHILL, SERVE CHEESECáKE
  1. Cool Cheesecáke: állow cheesecáke to cool to room temperáture with the lid open in the pressure cooker. Or pláce it on á wire ráck to cool to room temperáture.
  2. Releáse Cheesecáke from Sidewáll to ávoid Crácking: áfter cooling for 10 – 15 minutes, cárefully run á thin páring knife between the sidewáll ánd párchment páper to releáse the cheesecáke from the pán. Pull the slightly wrinkled párchment páper lightly to stráighten it out for á smooth side.
  3. Chill Cheesecáke in Fridge: Once the cheesecáke hás completely cooled, pláce it in the refrigerátor for át leást 4 – 8 hours (preferábly overnight).
  4. Serve: Remove cheesecáke from the refrigerátor. The best wáy to releáse the cheesecáke from the bottom pán is wárm the bottom of the pán to melt the butter. You cán use á torch or heáting pád for this step. Cárefully peel off the párchment páper. Enjoy~
